Geometric learning and shape-based medical image analysis for neuroimaging data and brain health
The CG/CV Team is a research group within the Medical Information Processing (MIP) Lab at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), led by Dr. Ilwoo Lyu. We are also affiliated with the Graduate School of Artificial Intelligence (GSAI) and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at POSTECH. Learn more about our team members.
Our research focuses on the geometric analysis of 3D shapes. We develop advanced computational methods for shape matching, segmentation, feature extraction, and quantification — combining rigorous mathematical foundations with modern deep learning to tackle open problems in 3D shape analysis with applications to neuroimaging data analysis.
Our work spans spherical representations and geometric learning, data synthesis for scarce medical datasets, and clinical applications to brain diseases/disorders such as autism spectrum disorder, Alzheimer's disease, and schizophrenia. We pursue this work with domestic and international collaborators across hospitals, neuroscience groups, and industry.
